Report - September 8, 2008

Sandy and her Mom. "From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth." Psalm 50:2Dear Friends,

As you know Sandy and I made a brief, but important trip to Idaho this summer, as Sandy's Mom is failing in health.

At this report, Sandy’s mom is doing very well…

I say that in the that she has lived the majority of her life for the Lord, and her life’s partner and husband, ‘Harris’ went to heaven a few short years ago and her prayer is to go join him.

We all will make the trip to eternity, “ready or not” and she is ready. She prays almost constantly, and mentally and physically  (unable to walk) she is drifting closer to the other side than here.

As a fellow traveler I envy her closeness to eternity and her Creator.

While Sandy was in the states she was able to spend some valuable time of closure with her mom before returning to the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the harvest grows and reaching out to the little ones makes the offering baskets heavier as pennies from the kids do add up in weight. But the earthly value rarely meets the needs. For the lack, we trust the Lord and He taps our friends to make up the lack. Thanks for being our partner in His precious tender harvest.

For the King and His Kids,
Darrell and Sandy Blatchley

Report - June 16, 2008

Hello again,

A friend asked recently if the kids still needed flip-flops,

which we call sandals.

Sandal1Well, sandals are a high need item. If the kids wear holes in them, they keep on wearing them but the worms can enter their feet through that contact with the dirt and poor sanitation. The lack of protection between their feet and the less than sanitary ground gives opportunities for injuries and parasites, like worms, to infect them and cause illness and sometimes death.

It's a daily wear (and wear out) item, so yes, if any of you have resources that can help the kids with this need it would be a big blessing. I've not had any stock of sandals for some time.

Sandal2Special Prayer Request.  As many of you know, Sandy’s mother is in poor health and approaching Heaven.  Sandy left Manila 48 long hours ago, and she just barely arrived in Boise, after a plane malfunction and a turnaround over the ocean and return to Manila six hours later, a plane change, and then lost luggage, but the good thing is... she arrived...

She will stay with family near her mom and our son has her former car ready to drive, so all told, things have come together very quickly for this trip.

Please pray for Sandy and I during this difficult time. I’m strongly considering and praying to be able to go to be with

Sandy for a couple weeks the first part of July, as it’s our

30th anniversary.

Darrell Blatchley

Report - June 13, 2008

Hi, friends.

We have been receiving generous prayer covering. Thank you so much for your heart and your friendship. We have been experiencing God’s presence being poured out in greater measure than ever before. More about this later…

PLEASE continue to pray for us, for the enemy is not pleased. The battle is real and we need friends covering us in prayer…

During the Family Circus Family & Youth Camps, Sandy had been ill, and I’d been sticking as close as possible to her while bouncing back and forth to the camp. She had bronchitis and was dehydrated. In the face of great needs she has a tendency to overwork, and if she tries to push it when she gets bronchitis it isn’t good; it only gets worse. She’s rested per Dr’s orders, and thankfully is recovering. She really regretted not being there during the time the children were experiencing the infilling. That, and the fact that her mom is in poor health and approaching Heaven, has really caused Sandy heartache… She’s leaving tonight heading to Boise, Idaho to be with her mom and family. We request your prayers.

Darrell & Sandy Blatchley

Report - May 22, 2008

Heart wrenching,

Concluding our third week of camps. Scores and scores have been saved and about 300 of all ages filled with the Holy Spirit, in services unlike anything I’ve seen for years - that remind me of when I was young and we met God during times of intense seeking Him at the altar.

Greeting the kids as they came out to load the jeepney’s, one of the older girls, she’s quiet, pretty, and mature, was wiping tears from her eyes, and I asked her, “How was it for you.” She replied, “I really don’t want to leave, This is the first time I’ve ever been happy…” She was filled with the Holy Spirit and found a new and stronger relationship with the Lord…

As I asked person after person if they were filled with the Holy Spirit, every one I spoke to had received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and spoke in a Heavenly language. One orphan in a vision saw Jesus and in the vision before He died on the cross and He told her, He did it for her, and would have if she had been the only one… That’s just a small bit of what happened in the lives of many young people many who were formerly abused, broken, rebellious and much more… but now are transformed…

For the King,
Darrell & Sandy

Report - May 15, 2008

Hi friends,

Recently we have given generous gifts and much prayer covering. Thank you so much for your heart and friendship. We have been experiencing God’s presence being poured out in greater measure than ever before. As I entered the office area this afternoon after concluding our first ever family camp, there were four young girls ages 6 – 11 playing downstairs. I asked one of them (Cheska, age 6) if she had been filled with the Holy Spirit last night and she smiled big and said, “Yes!”, and so had the other three girls and a host of other adults and family members. Last week it was scores being saved, and 100+ filled with the Holy Spirit, this week increases the numbers.

All I can say is this is a dream becoming a reality for Sandy and I and our ministry team. We’ve never experienced these numbers being filled in such a short time…

The special funds sent enabled us to finish paying off the balance owed on three separate pieces of property (see map below). We had been in prayer over this having as usual stretched our resources to the limit and being advised by our lawyer to finish off what we could ASAP. We have two more needing paid due to the owners being old and at death’s door and if not significantly paid for in advance of their demise, it becomes a potential danger with greedy kids wanting to get in on the money.

Probably looked something like this . . .Just a couple weeks ago Bill a man in the Midwest sold one of his cars a collectors edition a 1960 El Camino on EBay and then gave us $20,000 to pay on another piece. About two months ago Dan a man in Australia, sold his Harley Davidson and gave another

$20,000 for another piece of property. We have about 8 more pieces of the land purchase puzzle to complete in order for the entire subdivided lot to be ours.

Our goal this year is to reach 1% of the children in Davao = 7,500 kids coming to church every week and figure 2,500 of their family members. And every child that is malnourished receiving meals, and or rice and vitamins. We are almost there. We’ve seen growth virtually every week for the past 4 – 5 weeks.

Our goal for the next 3 – 5 years is to reach 10% of the children and to see them coming in to church each week. (Planning to plant satellite churches). That will be = 75,000 kids, not forgetting  every year there are 50,000 newborns in Davao, (250 newborns added to the Family Circus church annually). Thanks for partnering with us in the dream of reaching this harvest.

If it were a dream of our creation – it never could happen. But when God gives us a vision God’s size He also makes a way for it to happen.

PLEASE pray for us, the enemy is not pleased. The battle is real and we need friends covering us in prayer…

We’ve been in Family Circus Family Camp this week at the same time Sandy has been ill and I’ve been sticking close as possible while bouncing back and forth to the camp. She has bronchitis and is dehydrated. She has a tendency to overwork, and if she tries to push it when she gets bronchitis it isn’t good, it only gets worse. She’s following Dr’s orders resting and prayerfully will be up and around in a few days. She really regretted not being there during the time the children were experiencing the infilling. That, and her mom is in poor health in Boise with strokes this past week, is really causing Sandy heartache…

The Lord has provided Bibles for all that are attending Family/Youth Camps these three weeks. So many getting filled with the Holy Spirit and really experiencing divine encounters. Our head guard, Gill was out jogging about 5:30 AM yesterday and began praying in English and Cebuano then was startled to find himself praying in what sounded like Japanese, a language he does not know. He discovered he was being filled with the Holy Spirit. He is the father of two of our staff.

Rice - staple food of millions. We really understand the tragedy of rising prices for the poor, our rice has doubled in price and is bad news. We distribute a lot of rice to our malnourished kids, about a kilo a week for each child, plus vitamins. We just bought 800 lbs today for about $250 in funds donated by a Buddhist friend (imagine). Note: I’m paying about $1.25 per quart of gas for my motorcycle. That’s $5 a gallon.

Someone might (and they have) condemn our feeding kids, but I refuse to call the kids and widows “Rice Christians”, they are the lambs and widows God has placed in our flock and we're doing our best to help them not only survive, but to become warriors for the King.

All kinds are attending our services, for the past four weeks I’ve noticed an 8 year old girl with Leprosy in the services, and did I mention the Muslim kids vacate all their homes next to the tent in order to attend not just one but both weekend services. This weekend we are going to believe God for miracles and healing… Yes…!

Aquaponic plant system.Oh yes another neat thing, we are soon going to be putting in 4’ X 8’ fiberglass fish ponds and gardens. The fish produce waste in the form of nitrogen which feeds the plants (tomatoes, okra, cucumbers etc.) twice as fast if planted in the ground. Called Aqua-ponics, and the garden at the same time filters and aerates the water for the fish tank. We dream to have at least ten of the garden fish pond combinations, and due to the tropical climate, they will produce vegetables non-stop and the fish the same way… Love what the Lord is putting together. Each garden/fish pond will cost about $1,000, including the sump pumps, battery backup power supply etc. All inclusive.

We believe the Lord will provide… In turn it will generate, with virtually no expense, food for the hungry…

In it for the King & His kids,

Darrell & Sandy Blatchley

Urgent Needs - Spring 2008

BuiltWithNOF

In March 2008 we received a donation to pay off the C-10 property which was overdue scheduled to be paid the end of January 08 (Economic situation in US impacted us negatively). God miraculously provided and the funds were received from a donor that sold their Harley motorcycle to purchase the lot for the children. The balance on C-10 is for the taxes which is US $3,750.00 needing paid ASAP.

We’ve just been informed that two lots C-14 and C-15 with balances of $8,000 and $11,000 respectively are needing paid also ASAP due to the owners (elderly) both in critical health in and out of the hospital. If they die before the property is paid off we are advised by our attorney that there is the potential of the heirs stepping in and demanding higher payment. (The current owners are selling the property at under appraised value and are happy to be a blessing this way to the children’s ministry. Pray with us. Need is again ASAP.

C-9 Comes due the end of May.

The bakery will be having it’s ceiling poured within the next few days. Then a container of kitchen equipment will be sent. We need $1800 to put in the flooring and about $500 for painting the insides of the bakery and another $950 for electrical and plumbing needs.
